In early 2017, I began collaborating with photographer Pete Souza on his book about the two administrations of President Barack Obama. The culmination of that work became "Obama: An Intimate Portrait," published later that year by Little, Brown & Company. The book debuted at #1 on The New York Times bestseller list and is one of the best-selling photography books of all time.

The hardcover book, which has 352 pages, contains a forward by President Obama and reproduces more than 300 photographs with fine-art print quality in an oversize collectible format. Accompanying his pictures, Pete shares detailed captions with behind-the-scenes stories. The book was also released as a special edition in 2017.

During his time as Chief White House Photographer, Pete captured nearly two million images of the President. In this book, Pete's behind-the-scenes photographs and stories help viewers relive the extraordinary Obama Presidency. Together, they document the most consequential hours of the Presidency -- including the historic image of President Obama and his advisors in the Situation Room during the bin Laden mission -- alongside unguarded moments with the President's family, his encounters with children, interactions with world leaders and cultural figures, and more.
